BOSTON, September 29, 2022 – Launched in 2020, Orbia’s internal innovation program, LaunchPad, invites Orbia employees to suggest value-generating ideas and receive development funding and support if approved. 140 trained Innovation Champions support the ongoing implementation of the Launchpad challenges throughout Orbia. LaunchPad initiatives are projected to deliver more than $50 million in value in the next five years while supporting the delivery of resilient solutions for our customers in different sectors.
Since the start of the year, Orbia has run 15 LaunchPad Challenges across the five business groups generating 1,952 unique ideas resulting in 50 innovations that are now progressing with management funding. Finalists are awarded a budget of between $500–$1500 for team building, events and training.
This year the finalist teams unilaterally agreed to donate their funding allowance to support the people of Ukraine through the Red Cross in Germany with their donation matched by Orbia totaling 14,000 €. This donation is in addition to Orbia’s commitment to emergency humanitarian aid through global and local nonprofit organizations that support people on the ground in Ukraine and refugees in neighboring countries.
