Doron Tamir is the CEO and Co-Founder of LAVA, an energy startup that has developed the first new thermodynamic cycle in over a century. LAVA’s breakthrough technology significantly improves efficiency in converting heat to electricity and electricity to heat or cooling, enhancing heat engines, heat pumps and energy storage systems. The innovation aims to transform the energy landscape by tackling key challenges in efficiency, waste heat recovery and renewable energy storage.
Before founding LAVA, Doron led ventures in agriculture and renewable energy, including a 1,000-hectare almond farm in Portugal and a teak plantation in Cambodia. He co-founded Solex, a photovoltaic project developer that partnered with EDF EN on $500 million in solar projects. Earlier, he served as CEO of Dor Shalom, an Israeli non-profit, and was a team commander in the Israeli Navy Commando. He holds a B.A. in computer science from IDC Herzliya, is fluent in Hebrew and English, and has over 30 years' experience in production, operations and business development.
